FAQ - Quest Frequently Asked Questions
(because "frequently asked questions" is kinda overdone)
👉 What exactly is the Magna Codex?
An agenda? Yes.
A game? Yes, that too.
Basically, it's a mix between a planning tool and a role-playing game. You scribble, you check things off, you win points, you even receive secret mail in the post. In short, it's the planner that makes planning (almost) as fun as scrolling through TikTok.
👉 Do I need to be super organized to use it?
Not at all! It's specifically designed for people who forget appointments, write lists everywhere (and then lose them), or find traditional planners too bland. Here, you start small, add your own personal flavor, and find yourself actually enjoying it.
👉 Is this for children or adults?
Both!
- Adultish version: for those who refused to become a boring adult but still wants to manage their obligations (a bare minimum).
- Pre-adultish version (8-13 years old): for mini-heroes who juggle with their homeworks, activities, forgotten lunches and social life and want to get ready for the circus of life.
👉 Am I really going to use it for more than two weeks?
Good question! I'm not going to bullshit you: it does depend on you.
BUT the Magna Codex is designed to be fun, motivating, and flexible. You can skip a week without guilt, come back, change your priorities, and continue. Here, there are no judges, no "you musts," just a tool that adapts to you.
👉 Paper? Really? Why not an app?
Because we all know what happens when you open your phone to "just note down an appointment"... (hello infinite scroll black hole 🙃).
With the paper:
- You remember better what you write.
- You avoid distractions.
- And, well, it feels good to touch something real (yes, you can even sniff it if you want, I ain't here to judge).
👉 I already have my discs, do I really need to buy more?
Nope, not at all! Just enter the code WithoutDiscNotWhiteoutDisc in your cart and it will credit them (take off $10). After that, don't bother looking for them in your package though...!
👉 What's the deal with adventure points?
It's your own personal motivation system. You create a point system for your actions (like "I did my homework before gaming = 10 points"). At the end, you decide your reward: a nap, hunk food, another episode of your show, whatever. And if you want to cheat, well... nobody's watching...
👉 Why does the layout change every month?
Because monotony is boring. We don't want your planner to become a piece of furniture. The design changes to keep it fresh and fun, but we keep the same sections so you don't get confused either.
👉 So what's this business about receiving mail in the post?
Each month, you receive a letter or postcard from a character in the universe you've chosen. It includes mini-missions, puzzles, or just updates on their adventures. It's like having a super-motivated imaginary friend… but for real.
👉 Will this actually help me or is it just cute?
Both! It's cute, funny and playful… but also super effective for reducing mental overload, choosing your priorities and stopping running around like a headless chicken.
👉 Can I buy it as a gift?
Oh yes. You might even become your friend's/teenager's/colleague's favorite person. And it's still a good thing to give a gift card from a local business rather than a big chain that starts with "A", right?
👉 Can I start in the middle of the year?
Yes! No need to wait until January. You can start whenever you want, and your Magna Codex will keep up with you.
👉 Why are the sales final?
Short answer:
Because everything is printed on demand to minimize costs (and therefore the selling price as well).
Long answer:
Small local businesses have the downsides of their advantages. Yes, everything is made here, by someone local, and you can choose from tons of options to suit your needs and desires. But it also means all the expenses come directly out of my own pocket, and I can't pay for my groceries with the planner you changed your mind about and want to send back. We live in a free country; you're not obligated in anyway to buy and keep my product unless you've gone through the entire purchasing process and it's actually in your hands. Plenty of time and steps to change your mind before that point if need be, I promise! Otherwise, considering the cost of round-trip shipping and other manufacturing expenses, I'll be eating my socks, and it doesn't belong to any of the food groups in Canada's Food Guide (I checked, I swear!).
👉 Yeah, but what if it arrived damaged or something was missing?
Okay, this is a different story! If it's my fault (or at least my responsibility), just write to me and we'll figure out together what's best for everyone, whether it's sending you back what's missing or damaged, giving you a partial refund depending on the situation, or even a full refund if the mailman's dog ate your package. (That's not part of any food group in Canada's food guide either, but try explaining that to a dog and see!)

* Real emergencies, still call 911 plz..!
👉 How long does it take before I receive my preciooooussssss?
Since it's printed on demand, it generally takes 2 to 3 weeks to arrive in your mailbox. But I promise, it's worth the wait (and it'll teach you patience, an adult quality we all try to cultivate). If by some chance I do have it stock, I'll send it faster for sure!
👉 Can I choose the color/cover?
Yes, but no?! You choose your universe and your format, but with the cover designed around the theme. I know it's fun to have everything super customized, but I had to make business choices!
👉 Do you ship internationally?
Yes! But, let's be honest: international postage costs aren't exactly wallet-friendly… So yes, I can, but prepare yourself mentally (and financially).
👉 Can I download it as a PDF to print it myself?
Nope. It's intentionally paper-based to get away from screens, and because it was designed as a tactile experience (and olfactory, if you want to sniff your planner, still not judging).
👉 Is it recyclable?
Yes, it's paper. You can put it in the blue bin when you've used it up or keep it as a souvenir, a sacred relic of your personal epic, your call.
👉 Do you offer volume discounts if I order for my team/school/sect of adultish peeps?
Good idea! Write to me and we'll look at it together: dominique@sarcastikdoom.com (But seriously, not for a cult, I'm not going down that slippery slope... it always ends tragically! #NotMyKindOfDramaLama)
